
Ontario Early Years centre
Ontario Early Years Centres provide a place for children 0-6
and their parents or caregivers to play and learn together.
Adults can learn about the benefits of early literacy, health,
nutrition and early childhood development. We can also
assist you with accessing other community services that
ensure our children have the best start in life. Staff are
ready to answer questions you may have, provide new
ideas and help point you in the right direction if needed.
Services provided are free of charge.
The following services are provided:
- Early learning activities in a play group setting
- Nutritious snacks
- Community kitchens
- Respite care (parent relief )
- Toy and book lending
- Parent resources, training and education
- Pre and post-natal resources and information
- Volunteer opportunities (personal and criminal reference
check required)
- Information links to other local early years services
- French programs and francophone services
- Access to Public Health Nurse
- Children’s computers
- Aboriginal programs and services
- Adult computers with internet access
- Intergenerational programs
- Gym and swim
- Multi-cultural programs with translators
- Access to Speech and Language Pathologist/Infant Hearing Specialist

Early Learning and Care Centre
We believe each child is an individual
active learner, full of curiosity and potential, eager and capable of achieving
success in school and beyond. Our programs are about providing the supports and
environments to bring out the best in young children.
FULL DAY CHILDCARE
This program is available for children
2 ½ to 5 years of age on a full or part-time basis. Care is also provided for
children attending JK/SK. Those attending Queen Mary School may be escorted to
and from school by a staff.
• Hours of operation: Monday-Friday 7:30-6:00pm
• Open 12 months/year (excluding statutory holidays)
• Subsidized spaces are available
PRESCHOOL UNIVERSAL PROGRAM
This program is for children
who turn 3 by December 31 (not currently enrolled in JK) whose families live in
the Queen Mary or Holy Family School boundaries. These children are eligible for
2.5 hours a day of FREE early learning and care programming.
• Program times: Monday-Friday 9:00-11:30am or 1:00-3:30pm
• Open September to June (excluding statutory holidays)
