Making Waves at Kiwanis
The Lifesaving Society has come to the Hamilton East
Kiwanis Boys’ and Girls’ Club, in a new way! The Lifesaving
Society’s Swim Program is a new series designed to develop
solid swimming strokes and skills while incorporating
valuable Water Smart education that will last a life time.
Use this chart to find out which level your child should
register in this year:

- Still unsure what level your child should be in? Give us a
call and we’ll organize a time where we can evaluate your
child’s abilities and recommend the most appropriate
level.
- Classes are 30 minutes in length (45 minutes for Swimmer
3 and higher). They run once per week for ten weeks.
- Classes are offered during the evening Monday-Thursday
and during the day on Saturday. Class schedules will be
posted prior to each session.
- Times and dates of classes may vary between sessions.
The Hamilton East Kiwanis Boys’ and Girls’ Club reserves
the right to cancel/combine/change class days/times.
- Registrations and requests to switch lesson days or times
will be accommodated, when possible, prior to the 3rd
lesson of each session.
- CANCELLATIONS – There will be no make up classes
due to cancellations for maintenance, weather, or other reasons.
- Infants must wear either a bathing suit or plastic pants in the pool. (no diapers)
- We welcome you to make use of our pool viewing area to watch your child swim.
- Cost to current members is $10/session ($20 for Adult lessons).

Parent & Tot 1 - 3
Spend quality time with your child while you both have
fun, learn and socialize! Through structured in-water
interaction between parent and child, we stress the
importance of play in developing water-positive attitudes
and skills. We also provide Lifesaving Society Water Smart
® tips on keeping your child safe in any aquatic setting.

Preschool A – D
In Preschool A through D, we help 3-5 year olds become
comfortable in the water and have fun acquiring and
developing a foundation of water skills. We incorporate
Lifesaving Water Smart® education in all Preschool Levels.

Swimmer 1-6
Swimmer progressions accommodate children 5 years and
older including absolute beginners as well as swimmers
who want to build on the basics. We stress lots of in-water
practice to develop solid swimming strokes and skills. We
incorporate Lifesaving Society Water Smart® education in
all levels.

Adult and Teen Lessons
Think it’s too late to learn how to swim? Whether you’re 16
or 75, with the Lifesaving Society’s new Swim Program it’s
never too late to learn. Register today and you too will be
given the opportunity to learn valuable swimming skills
and strokes as well as Lifesaving Society Water Smart®
knowledge that you can use and pass on to others!

Adult Aquafit
Aquafi t is movement to music in the water. Feel weightless
while training your heart and muscles using the resistance
of the water.

Swim Patrol Rookie, Ranger, and Star
The Swim Patrol program is the on-ramp to lifeguarding.
Rookie Patrol, Ranger Patrol, and Star Patrol form a pre-
Bronze progression of enrichment for young swimmers
who have completed Swimmer 6 and are ready to go
beyond learn-to-swim.

Advanced Leadership Courses
Bronze Star
Bronze Star is a preparatory course for candidates who
plan to take their Bronze Medallion. Additional fees for
manual and exam.
Bronze Medallion
Teaches candidates how to respond to water rescue
situations while minimizing risk to themselves. Candidates situations while minimizing risk to themselves. Candidates
will develop their physical fi tness, rescue skills, decision
making and judgment. Required: Age 13+ or Bronze Star.
Additional fees for manual and exam.
Bronze Cross
Bronze Cross will further develop candidates in their fi tness,
skill, knowledge and judgment as a lifesaver. Required:
Bronze Medallion and Emergency First Aid. Additional fees
for manual and exam.
